]]><![CDATA[A Dazzling Display]]>Thu, 22 Mar 2012 21:15:15 -0500http://www.hewisphoto.com/1/post/2012/03/twin-beacons.htmlOn a warm evening in mid-March, I was able to watch (and photograph) Venus and Jupiter as they set over Valens Resevoir between Cambridge and Hamilton. Since this was taken well after sunset at around 10pm, the glow in the sky is light pollution from the cities of Cambridge, Kitchener, and Waterloo.

Yesterday I paid a visit to Grip Limited, an ad agency in Toronto. Their office is spread across three floors, and in addition to a staircase between the first and second floors, they’ve also installed a super fun orange slide. It obviously gets used quite often, as evident by the shoe scuff marks all the way down it’s length.



Their slide brings daily smiles to employees and visitors, and reminds everyone who sees or tries it that we don’t always have to be so serious. In the rush and monotony of everyday life, it’s easy to forget that we should — and often must — lighten up and enjoy ourselves through fun and laughter.

And as if you had to ask... Of course I tried it out! It’s super fun and brought a super smile to my face!
